Kate received her first camera, a red plastic Kodak 110 camera with no flash, when she was 9. She's been documenting and manipulating her friends, family, and anyone who crosses her path ever since.

After studying fine arts, sociology, and women's studies at SUNY New Paltz, she lived in the Czech Republic for a while, then moved to the San Francisco Bay Area for four years. In 2003, she moved back to the dark skies and vicious winters of Rochester, NY. A few months ago, Kate moved to Montreal, QC. She wouldn't have imagined she would ever move to a place with more vicious winters than Rochester, but she did.

Currently, Kate is trying to give up some of her artistic control by inviting other artists to collaborate on a photographic/multi media self-portraiture project.

She has exhibited her works in Quebec (Montreal), New York, and California.

Kate often wonders what her world would be like if she didn't have the compulsion to keep photographing.
